Company History

it all started back in 1994.....

Way back in 1994, whilst in his final year of University, Duncan Bradford the founding Director of Kukimedia, started putting together simple web pages in html. Wow, those were the days when we had just a US Robotics 14.4k dial-up modem that made such a racket - pages with anything on other than just a few words took a long time to load back then!

At the time the Internet was so much in it's infancy that no-one really knew what it was, and hardly anyone had access to it. Upon graduation Duncan started a company with a colleague from Uni and together started to build an online resource for the media industry. For the next 3 years and during a number of roles, Duncan continued to do website design and development for a number of organisations as a contractor.

In 1997 we started doing commercial web development services for real under the name of Eyeworks Studio, with Citroen UK being the first major website design project.

For the first 3 years we were based in London but then in March 2000 we moved to Nottingham, incorporated the company and have since done over 4,000 websites (we don't count anymore) ranging in size from small business sites to complex corporate sites with advanced content management systems.

Jason Watkins joined as eCommerce Director in October 2009. Jason, founder and co-founder of a number of successful ecommerce sites like kitbag.com (co-founder), has 15 years ecommerce experience and provides consultancy services on e-business strategy, multi-channel ecommerce (B2B and B2C), business motivation and entrepreneurship.
